A public symposium organized by the UN Association in Minnesota and sponsored by Hamline University Global Engagement department was held on the evening of October 24, on UN Day. Between 50 to 60 people attended most of the two hour event.
Attorney Jim Nelson (first on the right in front) moderated the symposium. Attorney Micaela Schuneman (third from the right in front) explained the details of refugee settlement in MN.
Dr. Ellen Kennedy presented photos, charts and graphs to describe statelessness.
Dr. Ellen Kennedy, US Diplomat Tom Hanson, and UN Consultant Rich Hahnen spoke on the plight of refugees and stateless people.
The program was co-sponsored by Amnesty International, American Refugee Committee: World Without Genocide, Global Minnesota, Citizens for Global Solutions and Workable World Trust with assistance from International Institute of Minnesota.
