Join us for a celebration of
International Day of Peace

Monday, September 21, 2020 – 12:00 – 1:00 pm CDT
Lake of the Isles Lutheran Church, 2020 W. Lake of the Isles Pkwy, Minneapolis (on the patio)

We will gather on the outside patio of the church at noon. Pastor Arden Haug will address the spiritual imperative for peace (in our communities and everywhere), we will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, and reflect on the end of World War ll 75 years ago.

Part of the program will be 8′ 46″ seconds of Silent Prayer/Meditation remembering George Floyd and the “multiple layers of trauma our communities have experienced with the aspiration of preparing ourselves to create a different future.”

After the prayer/meditation attendees who wish to add their thoughts and reflections will be able to do so.

The International theme for 2020 is: Shaping Peace Together by spreading compassion, kindness and hope in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Stand together with the UN against attempts to use the virus to promote discrimination or hatred. Join us so that we can shape peace together.
